At Van Dyk Recycling Solutions, we realize that rather than fossil fuels, alternative sources of energy are the future. That’s why we operate more waste-to-fuel or waste-to-energy sorting systems than any other MSW processing supplier in North America. We build systems to recover valuable recyclables and then prepare feedstocks for conversion technologies from the remaining materials. In other words, our systems efficiently process MSW or mixed waste with the goal of capturing recyclables as well as organics. The recyclables can be sold to market and the organics can be turned into fuel or other forms of energy. All in an effort to build a circular economy by maximizing diversion from landfill.
Our waste-to-energy recycling systems produce customizable energy fractions of high quality and high heating (BTU) value so that our customers have marketable materials for use in a variety of waste-to-energy conversion technologies. For example, Walair air drum separators separate inert and/or high moisture material, while TOMRA optical sorters remove specific materials like PVC and metals. The resulting low moisture content and few inerts yield a higher BTU value.
Our experience in the waste-to-fuel or waste-to-energy market and our top-quality equipment deliver the ability to integrate with multiple conversion technologies such as anaerobic digestion, gasification, and pyrolysis. As North America’s leading turnkey system builder, Van Dyk specializes in cutting-edge technology in the fields of sizing, sorting, fuel processing, and the recovery of recyclables. Combining the best European equipment with the most dedicated North American project design and service team, we offer unmatched support in waste-to-energy system start-up and training and strive to deliver maximum diversion from your waste stream. Let us recover the value hiding in your mixed waste at the lowest cost per ton!

Video transcript:
Alberto Salcedo, Grupo CIP Partner and Legal Representative (speaking in Spanish): As an enterprise, we are committed to caring for the environment. We wanted to find a way to more efficiently recover the materials that are in urban solid waste. In searching, we agreed to the solution provided by Van Dyk. The best technology at the lowest possible cost and with the most efficiency.
Pieter Eenkema Van Dijk, President and Founder of Van Dyk: What’s unique about this plant we built in Mexico is that it does something that nobody else had been doing till now. Mexico is leapfrogging the United States. Today, the technology is at a point where we can separate straight municipal waste into organics, recyclables and P.E.F., or pre-engineered fuel that is an alternative to coal. So this will really move the world forward.
Salcedo (in Spanish): This is the plant with the best technology. Because there are other plants that only separate. There are other plants that compact solid waste. But we are the only plant that does everything in one location.
Ricardo Orozco, Van Dyk Recycling Solutions Mexico & Latin America Sales Manager: This equipment is the first of its kind in the country so we don’t have people knowing this technology. They have a lot of confidence in us and the way that we can achieve that confidence is by investing time with them, helping them to understand everything they need to know.
Juan Carlos Lopez, Grupo CIP Plant Manager (in Spanish): Van Dyk has supported us from the beginning. Not only in the negotiation phase, with the contracts, but also at the installation phase. Van Dyk has guided us through everything. The technicians assembled the machinery, trained us in operation it, educated, and prepared us in managing this type of plant.
Van Dijk: We work with our customers obviously from the beginning to the end. The design process, the installation, and the service afterward. It’s extremely important for these customers because they have 500 tons a day coming in, a thousand tons a day coming in, fifteen hundred tons a day coming in, so their equipment needs to work all the time.
Salcedo (in Spanish): We are convinced that the future is in facilities that repurpose solid waste. That is where the industry is headed. We want to create a society that cares for the planet. One that is mindful in the present, and looks toward the future.
