Commercial waste recycling systems can be very cost effective. Valuable materials can be reclaimed from these drier streams. The question is, what kind of commercial waste materials do you want to separate? Whatever your stream, we can develop a commercial waste system to process and recover maximum value with little labor.
We analyze the waste you collect by asking the following questions:
- Do you collect Commercial Single Stream, Commercial Dry Waste, C&I Waste (Commercial and Industrial Waste)?
- Do you have dedicated commercial single stream routes? This would be material coming from businesses with dedicated recycling programs and dedicated containers for recycling.
- Do you manage FEL routes that focus on commercial dry waste collection? This would be commercial waste coming from businesses, warehouses, office buildings, distribution centers, strip malls (not including any restaurant waste or wet waste).
These commercial waste streams contain large amounts of valuable recyclable material, including:
- OCC
- Office paper
- Aluminum cans
- PET bottles
- Metals
- Clean LDPE film
- Large rigid plastics
- Fines
Our highly automated commercial waste systems sort a variety of dry waste materials with minimal labor. We design to fit your facility’s needs and footprint, maximizing recovery and creating value out of challenging inbound material.
A typical commercial waste system includes pre-sorting out large metals, large rigid plastics, film, and shredded paper. An OCC screen screens off clean, sellable cardboard. A fines screen and optical sorters further process the material that falls through the OCC screen (this is the ‘holy grail’ of commercial waste processing – processing and recovering the value from the material that falls through your OCC screen). This is where you recover small OCC, clean, sorted office paper, PET, aluminum cans, and other recyclables from the remaining garbage and fines.
